In The Night is Also a Sun, I explore the fragile boundary between light and darkness, visibility and disappearance. Filmed in the skies of Lapinha da Serra, in the mountains of Minas Gerais, Brazil, the work seeks to reveal the hidden luminosity of the night — a light that is minimal, fragile, and yet powerful enough to transform our perception of the world. My approach is intentionally minimal: long takes, silent intervals, and subtle textures invite the viewer into a contemplative experience. Rather than delivering a conventional narrative, the video proposes a space of perception, where slowness becomes a method and darkness becomes a field of possibility. This work is also an extension of my ongoing artistic research on the relationship between body, landscape, and otherness. Here, the human gesture of creating small points of light is not opposed to the cosmos but becomes part of it — suggesting a dialogue between earthly fragility and cosmic vastness. The Night is Also a Sun affirms that darkness is not the absence of light, but another way of shining.
