The Bride of Gold

The film is about walking with a heartbroken gold bride through a divine field on her way to the sun, to a new hope. The audiovisual project is inspired by the work of the same name made by Aurora Reyes, mexican muralist, poet and social activist. The bride's clothing in the original painting stands out for its contrasts between white and gold. The story has something heartbreaking, because on the day of her wedding, Estela was wearing a gold filigree dress that made her look like a bright sun, but her fiancé never arrived, because he was already married and had another family. Our reinterpretation upon knowing the story behind the painting arises from wanting to imagine a future for Estela and "the women with mountain souls who knead vegetal silences on their faces" (Aurora Reyes).
